Follow these steps to integrate your Telegram group with the HostelMate Notification Bot and start receiving notifications for new bookings and modifications.

Step 1: Create a Telegram Group

1. Open the Telegram app on your mobile or desktop.

2. Tap on the pencil icon (or New Message) at the bottom right of the screen.

3. Select New Group.

4. Add the @hostelmate_bot to the group:

   • Tap Add Members.

   • In the search bar, type @hostelmate_bot.

   • Select the bot and tap Add.

5. Add other members (staff or manager) if desired:

   • Tap Add Members again.

   • Select contacts to include in the group.

6. Tap Next.

7. Name your group (e.g., "Hostel Notifications").

8. Tap Create to finalize the group.

Step 2: Get the Group ID

1. Open Telegram on the web by visiting https://web.telegram.org.

2. Navigate to the group you just created.

3. Look at the URL in the address bar of your browser.

   • The URL will look something like this:

     https://web.telegram.org/k/#-1234567890

4. The Group ID is the number found after the # in the URL. In this case, it is -1234567890.

Step 3: Access the Finance Portal

1. Log in to the finance portal .

Step 4: Add the Group ID in the System

1. In the portal, on the left-side navigation bar, click on Apps.

2. From the apps menu, select Telegram.

3. In the provided field, enter your Telegram group ID (e.g., -1234567890).

4. Click Save to confirm the setup.

Once the group ID is saved and the hostelmate_bot is added, you will start receiving notifications for any booking updates These notifications will help keep your team updated with the latest changes.

Stopping Notifications

If you no longer wish to receive notifications:

1. In the finance portal, navigate to the Telegram settings.

2. Clear the group ID field.

3. Click Save.
