# Moving From Another System

How to bring the bookings you already have in your old system or spreadsheet into Hostel Mate.

If you have upcoming bookings in another system or a spreadsheet, we'll import them for you. You can't do this part yourself.

## What to send

Export your bookings as **CSV or Excel** and send the file to us in the chat or to <contact@hostelmate.co>. Whatever your old system exports is usually fine. It helps if it has:

* Booking number and status (confirmed, cancelled)
* Arrival and departure dates
* Room or bed
* Guest name, email and country
* Number of guests
* Total amount and the source (Booking.com, walk-in, etc.)

Some systems only export a few hundred rows at a time. If yours does, send several files, split by date, so nothing gets left out.

We'll let you know when it's done. Then open the Booking Calendar and check a few bookings you know.

## After the import

1. **Set your prices.** Importing bookings doesn't add prices. A date with no price won't be sold on your channels. See [Pricing](/front-desk/pricing.md).
2. **Connect your channels** and bring over what's already on them: [Pull Future Reservations](/channel-mapping-guides/pull-future-reservations.md) (Hostelworld: [Import Bookings](/channel-mapping-guides/import-bookings.md)).
