Add-ons
Add-ons (sometimes called upsells) are extras guests can buy while booking on your direct booking page: breakfast, an airport pickup, a bike for the day, a late check-out. Guests are already in a buying mood at checkout, so offering the right extras there is one of the easiest ways to raise your average booking value.
Where to find it
Open Booking Engine in the side menu of the Finance portal, then click Add-ons in the list on the left.
Your add-ons
When you open the page, you’ll see all the extras you currently offer. For each one, you’ll see its price, a short description, and whether it’s currently active.
The order matters here! The way you arrange the items on this page is exactly how the guest will see them during checkout. Just grab the handle on the left side of any row and drag your most popular, best-selling items right to the top so guests see them first.
Adding a New Extra
When you create a new add-on, you’ll need to make a few quick decisions to ensure it charges the guest correctly.
Pricing Logic
You have two ways to charge for an extra:
Daily: Use this for things like breakfast or a towel rental. The system will automatically multiply your price by the number of nights the guest is staying, AND by the number of guests on the booking.
One-Time: Use this for flat fees. If it’s a $40 airport pickup, it doesn't matter if they stay one night or ten nights, or if there are 2 guests or 4—they will only be charged a flat $40 once.
Limits and Taxes
Max Quantity: This controls how many of this item a guest can put in their cart. If it's an airport transfer, you probably only want them to select "1". If it's renting a surfboard, you might let them select up to 4.
Taxable Toggle: Depending on your local laws, some services need to be taxed. Flip this switch if you need the system to apply your standard booking tax to this extra.
Adding Photos
People buy with their eyes! A nice picture of your breakfast spread or the comfortable van you use for airport transfers goes a long way.
While editing an add-on, you can upload multiple photos directly from your computer.
These photos will show up as a nice gallery on the checkout page, making your offers look professional and enticing.
If you upload a photo you don't like, simply hover over it and click the trash can icon to remove it.
Quick Tip
If you want to stop offering a service for a while (like a seasonal tour), just turn off the "Active" switch. It will disappear from the booking engine immediately, but it stays in your dashboard so you can turn it back on next season.
