Coupons
Coupons are discount codes guests enter when they book on your direct booking page. They're a simple way to reward returning guests, run a promotion with a partner, or fill beds in a quiet week, and they give guests a reason to book with you instead of through a booking site.
Where to find it
Open Booking Engine in the side menu of the Finance portal, then click Coupons in the list on the left.
The Overview List
When you open the page, you’ll see a list of all the discount codes you’ve ever created.
You can instantly see the code name (like
SUMMER10), a quick summary of what the discount actually does (like "10% off"), and whether the code is currently turned on or off. You’ll also see a status badge telling you if the coupon is currently Active, Scheduled for the future, Expired, or Exhausted (meaning it hit its usage limit).
Want to organize your list? You can grab the handle on the left of any row and drag it up or down to keep things tidy.
Creating and Editing a Coupon
When you click to add a new coupon or edit an existing one, you get a ton of options to make sure the discount works exactly how you want it to. We break this down into three simple tabs:
1. General & Discount
This is the basic setup.
Give your coupon a code name—make it catchy and easy to type!
Decide the Discount Type: You can offer a percentage off their whole stay (like 15% off), or a fixed flat amount (like $20 off).
You can also write a small internal description so you and your team remember what this promo was for.
2. Restrictions & Limits (The Rules)
This is where you protect your revenue. A coupon will only work if the guest's booking meets every single rule you set here. If you leave a rule blank, there’s no limit.
Dates: Pick exactly when the coupon starts and when it expires.
Usage Limits: You can say "This code can only be used 50 times total," or "A single guest can only use this code once."
Money & Time: Require guests to spend a minimum amount (Cart Value) or book a minimum number of nights before the discount kicks in.
Guest Count: Make the coupon valid only for solo travelers, or only for large groups.
Customer Type: You can restrict a code so it only works for brand new guests, or use it to reward your returning, loyal guests.
3. Room Eligibility
If you only want to discount a specific room type—say, your Private Suites are empty but the dorms are full—you can click the Rooms tab. Here, you can check off exactly which rooms the code is allowed to discount. If you leave them all unchecked, the discount works for the whole property.
Quick Tips
If you want to pause a promo for a few days, you don't have to delete it. Just flip the toggle switch on the main list to turn it off temporarily.
To completely permanently remove a code, click the red trash can icon.
